Hilo Little League is holding registration for ages 8-12 through Nov. 4.
Registration, medical forms, proof of residency and coach applications can be obtained at www.hilolittleleague.com or by calling 217-7166 or 987-8469.
The season is projected to begin on mid-January. The deadline for coaching applications is Dec. 12.
Vulcans Booster
Club luncheon
The Vulcan Booster Club will hold a luncheon at noon Tuesday at at Coqui’s Hideaway Restaurant.
Cost is $15, tax and tip included.
The speakers will be the coaches of the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

T-ball sign-ups
The Waiakea Pirates will be holding registration for T-ball players ages 5-6 at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at University Heights pavilion on Kalili Street.

Keck Observatory
to host polo
The “Cosmic Cup” polo match is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Waikii Ranch Polo Field.
Gates open at noon, the games start at 1 p.m., and the main event between Keck I and Keck II teams at 2.
General admission to this fundraiser is $5 per person. Fans may bring picnic lunch, umbrella and chairs.

Mauna Kea Polo
Club tourney
The Mauna Kea Polo Club will hold its second annual Carlos Rivas Memorial Polo Tournament at 11 a.m. Nov. 30 at Waikii Polo Field in Waimea.
The benefit for three island hospice organizations — Hospice of Hilo, Hospice of Kona and North Hawaii Hospice — will be a round-robin tournament with three teams captained by Jed Ednie, Jason Lau and Kenny Shamel.
The tournament honors Rivas, who, according to a release brought polo back to the Big Island in the 1970’s and started indoor polo at the Waikoloa Village Stable arena.

Keauhou Canoe
Club race slated
Keauhou Canoe Club will hold its 16th annual Abbott Galaher SeaMan Race at 9:15 a.m, Dec. 13 at Keauhou Bay.
The race is open to all one-man and two-man canoes, as well as standup paddleboards.
There will be a 3-mile short course standup paddleboards and paddlers in the junior (under 19), novice and recreational divisions, as well as paddlers more than 60 years of age.
The long course paddlers will race 5 miles in age group divisions.
Registration at the Keauhou Canoe Club halau at Keauhou Bay will open at 7:30 a.m.
Entry fee is $20 per paddler, plus a food donation to the Hawaii Island Food Basket.
If a food donation is not provided by the entrant, an additional donation of $10 will be collected.

Hawaii Cycling Club race in April
The Hawaii Cycling Club’s second annual Hawaii Century will take place April 4, starting and ending at Spencer Beach.
Cyclists can choose one of three distances: 100 miles, 60 miles and 30 miles; there are no time limits and the rides are not timed.
The event is a fundraiser for North Hawaii Hospice, which received $2,498.09 from the 2014 event.
